ILCA North American Championship

Leo Boucher

            On July 14th through the 18th, the ILCA fleet hosted the North American Championship out of St. Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco. Severn Sailing Association had three SSA Members / former Junior program sailors competing. Leo Boucher came away with 1st overall in the ILCA 7 fleet and Charlie Anderson came in 17th. In the ILCA 6 fleet, Robby Meek finished in 2nd place. The regatta had some shifty conditions with a very aggressive current that kept the sailors looking for current relief the entire event. We are so proud of these sailors representing the club at such a high level. Leo has been coaching our Laser race team for the past three seasons and this is Charlie’s first year coaching Introduction to Double Handed sailing. Robby Meek is currently a sailor on the summer Laser Team at SSA. If you see them around the club, be sure to congratulate our sailing champions on their amazing performances!
