Day Sailer Fall Invitational
Thirteen Day Sailers registered for our Fall Invitational “The O’Day Cup, Tri Regional,” this regatta has been competed on the East Coast since the 1970’s. Thanks to Regatta Chairman Jeff Seltzer and PRO Charlie Krafft we had 6 races over two great days of close racing.
In some of the tightest racing of the year, Robin Richards and Cathee Lee sailing Kanaka were leading after day one, then Erika Seamon and Bruce Artman stormed back in Seamonster with two bullets to take the lead going into the last race on Sunday. Only to have Bill Lawson and Colette Preis win the regatta in the 6th and final race with a very consistent, 4,3,1,2,2,2.
In addition to an awesome regatta the Day Sailer Fleet also had the opportunity to celebrate the contribution of long time Fleet One members and Day Sailer stalwarts, Ken and Jackie Seamon. After 50 plus years of Day Sailing and members of SSA, Ken and Jackie are moving out of the area. Commodore Bruce Empey made a speech and toast to Ken and Jackie to their service and support of SSA.
