Day Sailer Crab Pot Regatta
The Day Sailer Crab Pot is a regatta that has been sailed at SSA for over 40 years, it has taken on many shapes and sizes, but it has always been about the joy of sailing. At the bottom of this report is an audio version of article that appeared in Sailing World a few years ago, it was written by our own Day Sailer Fleet One member Erica Seamon. It is quite good.
The 2023 version of the Crab Pot was held last weekend in conjunction with the No Ice Bowl. We had 5 boats register and 3 made it to the starting line. The race was to the Route 50 bridge and back, in true Crab Pot spirit, Jeff Seltzer sailed with his wife and 2 young children, they were 3rd. Lionel Phillips and his crew were second, and sailing the first time together Pam Corwin and LeAnn Myhre won the Crab Pot.
