Day Sailer Fall Series

Thanks to Eric Johnson and a cracker jack RC crew, the Day Sailers enjoyed a terrific late summer “Fall Series" of racing. Navigating light shifty winds of the Bay in August is never easy, and despite a few AP flags, our 8 Day Sailers scored 3 races on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. The top of the fleet had some very close racing. Congratulations to Bill Lawson and his wife Colette Preis, for winning the weekend with 9 points. Bill and Colette debuted their newly rebuilt DS 4184, Blinky, a great new addition to the fleet, a very quick boat, well sailed she is going to be tough to beat moving forward. Despite strong Sunday finish and 3 bullets for the weekend, Matt White and his daughter Morgan Wittrock were second with 10 points. The Father/Son team of Jeff and Gabe Seltzer were third. Jeff and Gabe had a great weekend and were particularly fast downwind, with Gabe doing an awesome job flying and gybing the chute in an often challenging and lumpy Southerly.

We were also fortunate to get some new crew out on the race course, new member Kimberly Taylor sailed with Robin Richards on Kanaka, Monica Arnold sailed with Amy Harris on Morning Glory and Bara Vaida sailed with Erika Seamon on Seamonster.
