TESOD Weekly Racing Reports - August 12, 2008

Winds were going from 270 with the puff coming out of Spa Creek to 330 when coming down the Severn and a current going out at 1/2 knot with winds blowing about 4-5 to 9 knots in the puffs. The weather mark was off the Academy seawall with the RC set up at the harbor speed marks about 1/2 way to the shoal pole. The sailors had a pretty good road map with the anchored boats giving you a good idea which way the breeze was swinging, not to mention those dark spots on the water...

We had 4 laser and 4 "two sail" boat starts. And the count:

Laser 22
Snipes 6
V-15's 5
420 2
Jet 14 1
Moth 1
DS 1
Thistle 1
29er 1
Comet 1
Total 41

Helping on RC was Jon Virden, Doug Palmer, Super Cooper "the race committee dog", Max (who is age 5 and ran the Olie for a couple starts after jumping ship from the Jet 14), the ever tolerant Lorie Stout, and the rest of the Stout clan, Wilson, Bryan (weather mark) and Alex. Also helping was Joe McCorkell moving the pin (when the Stout boys were off talking to friends and in general, not paying attention to Dad). hanks!
