New SSA Site

Dear Members - It’s been an unprecedented year, for SSA and for our communities.  We’re all concerned about the continuing impact of COVID-19, and we’re all missing the thrills and camaraderie of regular sailboat racing.  Rest assured your Board and the SSA Committees, Staff, and Volunteers are doing all we can to support our shared passion for sailing, in a prudent manner consistent with applicable public health guidance.

As we continue, with appropriate caution, to ramp up our sailing activities, I’m pleased to announce the launch of SSA’s new club platform and website.  In true SSA volunteer fashion, this site has been an all-volunteer effort.  We need your help as we roll the site out over the next month.

I encourage you to visit the new public website at new.severnsailing.org. We’re putting finishing touches on content and layout, and would like your feedback.  You can find information about the club, SSA Racing, our Fleets, Volunteer opportunities, and Junior Instruction, along with upcoming events here.  There’s a “Feedback” button at the bottom of every page if you’d like to help improve the site.

The new site will manage all club functions - races, junior instruction, volunteering, membership, facilities - in one place, and replace both Club Express and BetterImpact.  The Committees are already actively employing the new platform to conduct the club’s business.  We’ve moved all member information over from Club Express; you will shortly receive an email inviting you to “on board” onto the new site to confirm your contact information and set up your password for the new site.

Over the next few weeks, the Committees will be reaching out to you, to walk all of us through their respective parts of the new site - how to sign up for races, how to volunteer, how to sign up for junior instruction.  Look for additional emails announcing these how-to instructions.  This information will also be posted on the “Helpdesk” page of the new site - https://new.severnsailing.org/helpdesk   As we roll out the new site, feel free to contact the office direct or use the feedback functions of the new site for any questions or comments.
