SSA Members Honored at 2022 AGM

The 2022 AGM was held on November 13th with cool weather, a delicious brunch and views of the High School Atlantic Coast Championship being hosted by the club. The AGM folder in the member dropbox has a copy of the keynote, supporting handouts and a few short videos from the meeting.

The AGM included presentations from all of SSA’s committees highlighting all of the great work that has gone on this past season. Fleets Champions and service awards were presented and the election of the 2023 Board of Governors brings a new Commodore, Bruce Empey. We thank Eric Johnson for the last two years serving as Commodore!

The AGM is also an opportunity to celebrate the ways that member service to the club is the keys to its success and each year we give out awards to those members who have especially made a difference.

In 2022 the Service Day Committee created the Fleet Captains Service Award. This award recognizes the SSA fleet that has the highest percentage of service days fulfilled vs Service Days owed. This year Matt White accepted the award on behalf of the Day Sailer Fleet.

Before we headed out to the bar to toast the end of a fantastic season at SSA, Commodore Bruce Empey made one last dedication, Pier 3 will now be known as the Hasslinger Pier. This pier is dedicated to Mark Hasslinger in appreciation of his many years of service to SSA.
